Dimensions of sustainability

No future without sustainability!

„Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.“ *

To make possible this kind of future, sustainability must be our overarching principle. If we want to leave a world that is worth living to our children and grandchildren, we must act responsibly and future-oriented. Intra- and inter-generational equity should be implemented on a global scale.

Sustainable development is often subdivided into three dimensions – ecological responsibility, social equity and economic performance. Coping with the various future tasks requires the interaction of all dimensions. Only then, the economical, ecological and social systems will remain stable and capable of regeneration. In this context, the carrying capacity of the ecosystem earth sets the absolute limit.
